Packers Shifting To More Run-Heavy Approach?
5 years agoThe Green Bay Packers are reportedly moving to more of a run-oriented attack in 2020, according to an agent. The agent didn't expect the Packers to do much on the free-agent wide receiver market because of this, and if Green Bay's 2020 draft is any indication so far, that might be true. The Packers surprisingly traded up to take Utah State quarterback Jordan Love late in the first round on Thursday, and they took a running back in Round 2 and a tight end in Round 3. Davante Adams was quarterback Aaron Rodgers' only real receiving threat last year, so perhaps Green Bay has decided to lean more heavily on Aaron Jones and the rushing attack. The pick of A.J. Dillon would seem to back that up in the second round over a receiver. If that's the case, Rodgers' stock as a high-end QB1 could be in danger as he gets closer to the end of his career.
