Packers Expected To Sign Three Defenders
6 years agoThe Green Bay Packers are expected to sign free-agent edge rusher Za'Darius Smith (Ravens) and safety Adrian Amos (Bears) on Tuesday, sources informed of the deals told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Amos' deal will be for four years and $37 million, with $21 million coming in the first two years. Smith will receive a four-year, $66 million deal with $34.5 million in the first two seasons. The Packers are also expected to sign free-agent edge rusher Preston Smith (Redskins) to a four-year deal with a base value of $52 million. Za'Darius Smith had a career-high 8.5 sacks in 2018 and generated 60 quarterback pressures, 17th most among edge defenders, according to Pro Football Focus. Both Smiths will help boost a Green Bay pass rush that has been severely lacking in recent seasons.
