Pablo Lopez Shines On Saturday
3 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Pablo Lopez was excellent on Saturday, allowing only one hit in seven innings of work, striking out seven without allowing a walk. Lopez faced just one batter above the minimum, throwing 93 pitches, 63 for strikes. He kept the Cubs hitters off balance all afternoon and was able to blow some pitches by them too, touching 97 on the radar gun several times. Lopez was coming off a rough start, but found another gear in this one and could have even more upside if he can keep reaching that kind of velocity going forward.
