Pablo Lopez Could Start Sunday Vs. The Phillies
3 years agoMiami Marlins pitcher Pablo Lopez (shoulder) could start Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies. According to manager Don Mattingly, the Marlins are looking to start Lopez on Sunday. He most likely was on a pitch count for the season finale after a successful two-inning rehab appearance last Thursday. The 25-year-old has been sidelined since mid-July with a strained rotator cuff. Before the injury, Lopez owned a 3.03 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, and 111 strikeouts over 101 innings in 2021. Although Lopez was stellar this season, he won't see enough of a workload to be used as a streamer for Sunday's game.
