4 years agoAtlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies extended his current hitting streak to eight games by going 1-for-5 on Sunday. He's reached base in all 14 games he's played this month, with at least one hit in 13 of 14. He's slashing .268/.336/.446 across the month with one home run, three doubles and two triples. He's been showing more power potential this year than we've seen in previous years. He has a .530 xSLG, up from .417 last year, and his hard-hit rate is up from 28.4% last year to 38.5% this year. He's simultaneously cut down on the strikeouts with a 14.8% strikeout rate this year, down from 24.2% last year. All signs point to Albies having a strong 2021 campaign and delivering high-end production from one of the weakest positions in fantasy, second base.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
