Chicago Cubs outfield prospect Owen Caissie extended his hitting streak to four games with a base hit on Friday evening. In May, Caissie has a .258/.452/.452 line with a strong 10:8 BB:K ratio. Through his first 36 games at Triple-A this season, the 21-year-old has an impressive .281/.428/.438 line with three long balls and four swiped bags. The former second-round selection is making his case to see time in the major leagues later this summer. However, he is in a bit of a logjam with Cody Bellinger and Seiya Suzuki returning from injuries, Ian Happ having an everyday role in left field, and the recent promotion of top prospect Pete Crow-Armstrong. Nonetheless, the third-ranked prospect in the Cubs system should be rostered in all dynasty leagues and is becoming a worthy stash candidate in deeper redraft formats.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Chicago Cubs outfield prospect Owen Caissie is riding a six-game hitting streak at Triple-A. During this stretch, Caissie has held a .286/.400/.667 slash line with two doubles and two home runs. He has also held a 6:4 K:BB. Before this recent stretch, the No. 3-ranked prospect in the system held an underwhelming .186/.271/.326 slash line across his last 10 games. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor Caissie's production at Triple-A, as he could be nearing his MLB debut. Last summer, the former second-round pick in the 2020 MLB Draft spent his entire 2024 season with Triple-A Iowa. Across 127 games, he held a solid .278/.375/.472 slash line with 29 doubles and 19 long balls. If he can continue to turn the corner, he could be in the mix to earn a promotion in the coming months.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Chicago Cubs outfield prospect Owen Caissie went 2-for-6 with a home run during their contest against Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday. This was Caissie's first round-tripper since the Triple-A season-opener on March 28. This was also his first multi-hit contest since April 3. Through the first nine games of the Iowa Cubs' regular season, the No. 3-ranked prospect in the system held a solid .243/.333/.486 slash line with a 4:15 BB:K. Last summer, the former second-round selection spent his entire season with Triple-A Iowa and held a solid .278/.375/.472 slash line. Given his strong play last season at Triple-A and hot start to this campaign, he should be in the mix for an early-2025 MLB debut. However, he may need to wait for an injury as the Cubs' outfield is currently quite deep and does not have an open spot for Caissie.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Chicago Cubs outfield prospect Owen Caissie went 3-for-4 with a triple, an RBI, and a run scored in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader for Triple-A Iowa. The three-hit performance only brought his batting average up to .250 (5-for-20), but with a double, a triple, and a home run included in those five total hits, the 22-year-old is slugging .550. The left-handed hitter spent all of 2024 at Triple-A, and though he hit .278 with 19 home runs and a strong .375 OBP due to a high walk rate, he struck out at a 28.4 percent rate. The former second-round draft pick is faring even worse to begin 2025, striking out nine times in 22 plate appearances (40.9 percent). The Cubs don't have a need for Caissie in the outfield at the moment and would surely like to see him get the strikeouts under control before throwing him into the fire in the big leagues, not to mention it could be prospect Kevin Alcantara who gets the call before him, but the 6-foot-3 slugger still has a good shot to make his major league debut later this season and could hold value in NL-only leagues.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBaller

Chicago Cubs outfield prospect Owen Caissie (groin) went 1-for-3 with a solo shot during their victory over Triple-A Omaha. Caissie was on a slower ramp-up program during camp after undergoing offseason core-muscle surgery. He was experiencing groin tightness and was in danger of missing the start of the Triple-A season. However, the No. 3 prospect in the Chicago system covered right field and batted in the two-hole in the season opener. He launched a 426-foot solo blast in the seventh inning. Last season, Caissie spent the entire campaign with Triple-A Iowa. Across 127 contests, the former second-round pick posted a .278/.375/.472 slash line with 29 doubles and 19 long balls. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to his production at Triple-A, as he should be in the mix for a promotion early in the 2025 season.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
