Owen Caissie Continues Strong Season
1 year agoChicago Cubs outfield prospect Owen Caissie went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base on Wednesday for Double-A Tennessee. Caissie, 21, has put together a fine season on the farm with a .286 batting average to go along with 21 homers, 81 RBI and seven stolen bases. The main part of the Yu Darvish a few seasons ago, Caissie has put together his best season as a professional and has come into his own in 2023. The Cubs have lots of talented outfield prospects that is headlined by Pete Crow-Armstrong and Alexander Canario, but Caissie should find his way to Triple-A next season with at the very least a chance to make the big-league squad. He will need a strong spring to be in consideration for a spot and could also be used as trade bait with his position being of strength to the organization. With his strong showing this year, he is certainly a name that dynasty managers should be keeping tabs on moving forward.
