Oswald Peraza, Everson Pereira Promoted By Yankees
1 year agoThe New York Yankees recalled a pair of prospects on Monday as infielder Oswald Peraza and outfielder Everson Pereira will join the club for Tuesday's series opener versus the Baltimore Orioles. Peraza, 23, has appeared in 19 games with the Yankees this season, hitting .173 with four stolen bases and a .520 OPS across 64 trips to the plate. He has fared much better at Triple-A Wilkes-Barre where he has hit .268 with 14 homers, 16 stolen bases, and an .836 OPS across 300 plate appearances. Tuesday could mark the big-league debut for Pereira, 22, who has done some serious damage as Peraza's teammate at Triple-A this season. The club's second-ranked prospect has hit a hefty .312 with eight homers, four stolen bases, and a .937 across 35 games after a successful 46-game stint at Double-A to begin the season.
