Osvaldo Bido Sharp Again On Saturday
3 months agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Osvaldo Bido logged another strong start on Saturday afternoon as he tossed six shutout frames against the San Francisco Giants. Bido struck out six and served up just one hit and two free passes. The lone hit came from outfielder Grant McCray in the sixth frame. In his previous start, Bido logged six shutout frames of two-hit ball while striking out five. Overall, through his second season in the big leagues, the 28-year-old has posted a 3.40 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, and a 21:45 BB:K ratio across 45 frames of work. Bido has done very well in limiting hard contact with a near-perfect 2.0% barrel rate and a 25.7% hard-hit rate which places him in the top percentile among all qualified pitchers. The right-hander will look to keep the momentum rolling as he is scheduled to face the Tampa Bay Rays next week, who have not fared well against right-handed pitchers this season.
