Oscar Gonzalez Begins Rehab Assignment Tuesday
2 years agoCleveland Guardians outfielder Oscar Gonzalez (intercostal) began a rehab assignment at Double-A Akron on Tuesday. He made three plate appearances in his first game and went 0-for-2 with a walk. Gonzalez has been out since late June due to a mild intercostal strain. The 24-year-old has experienced his first taste of the majors this year and the results have been mostly good thus far. Over 32 games, he's slashed .285/.315/.431 with two home runs, 12 doubles, 14 RBI and 12 runs. He hit 31 homers and slugged .542 in the high minors last year, so he certainly has some untapped power potential. If he were to tap into that power in the majors, he'd become a much more enticing fantasy asset.
