Oscar Colas Could Make An Impact For White Sox
2 years agoChicago White Sox outfield prospect Oscar Colas continued his hot start in Spring Training with a 2-for-3 performance in a victory on Tuesday versus the Milwaukee Brewers. Both his hits were singles and he also drew a walk. The Cuban has now hit safely in nine of his 21 at-bats with one RBI and a stolen base. Colas signed with the White Sox in January of 2022 and has already made a strong impression with a .314 batting average to go along with 23 homers and 79 RBI over 481 at-bats between High-A and Triple-A. If that isn't enough, the lefty slugger hit .362 against southpaws this past season. The White Sox are coming off a disappointing showing this past season and lost Jose Abreu to the Houston Astros in free agency. Although he played centerfield this past season, Colas has been playing in right field this spring where his competition has been Gavin Sheets and Leury Garcia. Colas provides much more upside than those two and a strong spring would make it hard for the White Sox to justify not handing him the keys. Regardless of where he starts the season, Colas should be able to make an impact in all formats this season at the dish.
