Orioles Declining Jordan Lyles' Option
2 years agoThe Baltimore Orioles are reportedly declining Jordan Lyles' $11 million option, per a tweet from The Athletic's Dan Connolly. Also per Connolly's tweet, regarding the Orioles and Lyles, "The sides will continue discussions, a source said, and so he could re-sign at a later date." The right-hander made 32 starts for the American League East club in 2022. He logged a 4.42 ERA and a 4.40 FIP in 179 innings and collected 144 strikeouts compared to 52 walks allowed. The veteran also tied a career-high with 12 wins. Baltimore's current rotation options include John Means, Tyler Wells, Kyle Bradish, Dean Kremer, Grayson Rodriguez, Austin Voth and Mike Baumann.
