Orioles Avoid Arbitration With Austin Voth
2 years agoThe Baltimore Orioles and right-hander Austin Voth avoided salary arbitration on Thursday by agreeing to a one-year deal for the 2023 season. The deal also includes a team option for 2024. Financial terms weren't disclosed. Voth spent 2022 with both the Orioles and Washington Nationals, posting a 4.34 ERA (4.13 FIP), 1.39 WHIP and 20.4 percent strikeout rate in a career-high 101 2/3 innings over 41 outings (17 starts). He was much better in Baltimore and started 17 of his 22 outings. The 30-year-old could see some more starts for the O's in 2023, but he won't be all that attractive in fantasy outside of being a potential deep-league streamer. Voth has a 4.86 ERA (4.76 FIP) and 1.38 WHIP in five major-league seasons.
