The Baltimore Orioles and right-hander Austin Voth avoided salary arbitration on Thursday by agreeing to a one-year deal for the 2023 season. The deal also includes a team option for 2024. Financial terms weren't disclosed. Voth spent 2022 with both the Orioles and Washington Nationals, posting a 4.34 ERA (4.13 FIP), 1.39 WHIP and 20.4 percent strikeout rate in a career-high 101 2/3 innings over 41 outings (17 starts). He was much better in Baltimore and started 17 of his 22 outings. The 30-year-old could see some more starts for the O's in 2023, but he won't be all that attractive in fantasy outside of being a potential deep-league streamer. Voth has a 4.86 ERA (4.76 FIP) and 1.38 WHIP in five major-league seasons.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

The Seattle Mariners have signed free-agent pitcher Austin Voth to a one-year, $1.25 million contract. The 31-year-old worked to a 5.19 ERA across 25 relief outings with the Orioles in 2023 but elbow inflammation bothered him for much of the season and he did not pitch after Aug. 30. Voth has bounced between the rotation and bullpen in parts of six seasons in the big leagues, combining to post a 4.90 ERA across 139 career appearances, 39 of which have been starts. Voth has fared better as a starter, posting a solid 4.23 ERA across 178 2/3 innings as a starter versus a 5.89 ERA in 120 2/3 frames as a reliever. Given the Mariners' starting pitching depth, Voth is likely bullpen-bound in 2024.--Brenton Kemp

Baltimore Orioles pitcher Austin Voth (elbow) was transferred from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL Monday. The move occurred to make room for newly-claimed pitcher Jacob Webb. While he has begun a rehab assignment, Voth has been dealing with right elbow inflammation since the middle of June, so it will still be some time before he could rejoin the O's. The 31-year-old had posted a lackluster 4.94 ERA and 1.58 WHIP in 31 innings of relief prior to his injury.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller

Baltimore Orioles pitcher Austin Voth (elbow) is expected to make a rehab start Tuesday in the Florida Complex League, per MASN Sports' Roch Kubatko. The 31-year-old has been on the injured list with right elbow discomfort since the middle of June. While he has started in his career, Voth has pitched exclusively out of the bullpen for the O's this season, compiling a 4.94 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, and 21.5% strikeout rate in 31 innings pitched.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller

Baltimore Orioles relief pitcher Austin Voth (elbow) is taking anti-inflammatories for his right elbow and has been shut down from throwing for a week after being placed on the injured list on Wednesday with right-elbow inflammation. The 30-year-old right-hander has been dealing with the elbow injury since spring training, so they'll give him a little time off to heal. In 23 appearances out of the bullpen for Baltimore in 2023, Voth has a 4.94 ERA (5.44 FIP), 1.58 WHIP, 14 walks and 31 strikeouts in 31 innings pitched. He's of little use in fantasy leagues and is currently rostered in 0% of Yahoo leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
