Orioles Acquire Keon Broxton
6 years agoThe Baltimore Orioles acquired former New York Mets outfielder Keon Broxton in exchange for international bonus slots on Wednesday. Baltimore also acquired pitcher Chandler Shepherd off waivers and optioned him to Triple-A, transferred pitcher Alex Cobb (back) to the 60-day injured list and designated pitcher Yefry Ramirez for assignment. Broxton had only received 53 plate appearances with the Mets and figures to get more consistent playing time with the moribund Orioles. With just a .143/.208/.163 slash line in those 53 plate appearances and now on a weaker team, however, Broxton is not a fantasy asset. Any remaining NL-only owners aren't losing much, and AL-only owners need not rush to pick him up.
