Ondrej Palat Puts Together Another Multi-Point Outing
4 years agoTampa Bay Lightning left wing Ondrej Palat scored the game-winning goal and had one assist in Monday's 4-2 victory over Carolina. He scored 8:04 into the third period before Alex Killorn made things safe with an empty-netter. Palat had an assist on a Steven Stamkos power-play goal and Victor Hedman also scored for the Bolts. The Czech winger now has three multi-point outings in his last six appearances, upping his season tally to 14 points. He's in an ideal situation to perform alongside Stamkos and Brayden Point on the top line and on the first power-play unit. Palat will get a couple of more matchups next against the Hurricanes before finishing off the week versus Dallas.

Ondrej Palat Out Wednesday
2 months agoNew Jersey Devils left wing Ondrej Palat (illness) will not play in Wednesday's matchup against Boston. The Czech veteran is feeling under the weather and will come out of the lineup for the second time this season. With Palat out, Kurtis MacDermid will enter the lineup, while Paul Cotter will move to the first line. Cotter impressed with his play early in the campaign but has enjoyed very little offensive success over the last couple of months. The 25-year-old has tallied 10 goals and 16 points in 49 appearances this season.

Ondrej Palat A Game-Time Call Thursday
1 year agoNew Jersey Devils left wing Ondrej Palat missed the morning skate with an illness and will be a game-time decision for Thursday's matchup against Los Angeles. The 32-year-old has struggled to stay in the lineup all season and could be absent again. He recently returned from a lower-body injury. Palat has played well since returning to action, but he can't be happy about his overall contributions. Across 42 outings this season, the veteran winger has tallied only eight goals and 20 points. Chris Tierney filled in for Palat on the top line during the morning skate.

Ondrej Palat Set To Return Thursday Versus Hurricanes
1 year agoNew Jersey Devils forward Ondrej Palat (lower body) is expected to return to the lineup Thursday on the road against the Carolina Hurricanes. The veteran has missed the last 10 games with his injury after getting hurt in a 5-2 loss versus the Boston Bruins on Dec. 30. "It feels great, finally, to get out there and skate with the team," Palat said after Wednesday's practice. It's been a down season offensively for the former Lightning winger, as he has just five goals and 14 points through 35 games in his second season in New Jersey. It's the third time in four seasons he has missed notable time with an injury, as he appeared in just 49 games last season, posting 23 points in that time. He skated on a line with Tyler Toffoli and Dawson Mercer on Wednesday.

Ondrej Palat Not Expected To Make Quick Return
1 year agoNew Jersey Devils left wing Ondrej Palat (lower body) isn't close to returning to action. He's been on the shelf for three games already and isn't out "short-term," according to Devils head coach Lindy Ruff. The injury is a further source of disappointment for Palat, who's struggled to make an impact in 2023-24. In 35 appearances, he's only picked up five goals and nine assists. His current scoring pace of 0.40 points per game is his worst in 11 seasons. With Jack Hughes (upper body) and Timo Meier (abdomen) also out, the Devils' top six currently looks very different compared to the usual setup. Erik Haula has started to feature heavily, while Nathan Bastian also saw time on the first line Saturday against Vancouver.
