4 years agoOmari Akhmedov was unable to get the victory over his biggest task to date in Chris Weidman. Akhmedov landed 33 significant strikes in the bout and landed half of his takedowns, going 4-for-8 in that department. The No. 11 middleweight will try to rebound in his next bout, which will probably be against someone outside of the top 15. Prior to the bout, he was unbeaten in his last six fights. He is still a tough competitor and should not be discarded for losing to Weidman. Let's see how he is matched up, especially if it's with a striker who may not be able to handle his ground game.--Matt Bricker
