2 years agoNew York Mets catcher Omar Narvaez (calf) is nearing a rehab assignment, which should come late next week, according to MLB.com. The 31-year-old went on the injured list after suffering a calf strain on April 5. He isn't eligible to return until June 5, but that might not be out of reach as things are heading in the right direction. Narvaez was hitting .286 with one run and two RBI before the ailment, but he struggled mightily in 2022, slashing .206/.292/.305 with four homers across 84 games. The Mets recently recalled backstop Gary Sanchez, so fantasy managers can expect to see Francisco Alvarez and Sanchez sharing time behind the plate for now.--Spencer Seguin
