Ollie Schniederjans to Make Second Career U.S. Open Start
6 years agoThe 24-year-old American golfer and former No. 1 amateur in the world, Ollie Schniederjans, will be making his second career U.S. Open start this week at Shinnecock Hills. In his only other U.S. Open appearance at Chambers Bay in 2015, Schniederjans had a respectable first showing, finishing in a share of 42nd place. For years, lofty expectations have been placed on the young American golfer, but his career, for the most part, has been full of ups and downs. Schniederjans recorded two top-10 finishes at the beginning of 2018 but has failed to post a top-30 finish since mid-February. Schniederjans comes into the week with a price tag of $7,100 on DraftKings and will be very sporadically owned. Despite his cheap price tag and low ownership, he isn't worth touching at a U.S. Open venue. Schniederjans' game would be better suited for Augusta National than it would be for Shinnecock Hills.
