7 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder Odubel Herrera (shoulder) will finally play the field Friday, starting in center field when the club plays the Tampa Bay Rays. The 26-year-old has been dealing with shoulder soreness, which has prevented him from playing defense. Herrera has been Philadelphia’s best offensive player the past three seasons, hitting a combined .288 with 37 home runs and 146 RBI. Herrera figures to be a lock for a starting spot in the outfield alongside Rhys Hoskins and either Nick Williams or Aaron Altherr. The rest of this month should be dedicated to his returning to form on defense in time for the beginning of the season.--RDelgado
