Norman Powell Scores Team-High 32 Points In Losing Effort
4 years agoPortland Trail Blazers guard/forward Norman Powell led the team with 32 points in Tuesday's 133-116 loss to the Clippers. C.J. McCollum went for 24 points and Damian Lillard had a complete off night with 2-for-14 shooting and 11 points. Powell shot 8-for-18 from the field and was very busy at the foul line with 14-for-15 shooting. He made two triples with seven attempts and had four rebounds and one assist to complete his line. Powell's scoring numbers have dropped since his move to Portland and this was only the second time in six games he managed to record at least 20 points. The next game against Utah isn't exactly promising scoring-wise either. The Jazz are ranked third in defensive efficiency and they allow only 107.2 points per game.

Norman Powell Out With Strained Hamstring
1 week agoLos Angeles Clippers guard/forward Norman Powell (hamstring) has been ruled out for Tuesday's meeting with the Phoenix Suns. After missing five games due to a knee injury, Powell was back in the lineup on Sunday against the Los Angeles Lakers, but he strained his right hamstring and played only nine minutes. Bogdan Bogdanovic and Amir Coffey will be expected to step up during Powell's absence. Powell's first opportunity to return is on Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons, but since he is dealing with a muscle injury, it wouldn't be surprising if he sits out several games.

With him out on Friday, Amir Coffey, Bogdan Bogdanovic, and Derrick Jones Jr. are in a position to see more action.

Norman Powell Uncertain For Friday
2 weeks agoLos Angeles Clippers guard Norman Powell (knee) is listed as questionable ahead of Friday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers. Powell is in danger of missing his fifth game in a row due to a left knee issue. His absence has given Amir Coffey and Bogdan Bogdanovic increased minutes in the rotation. When active, Powell has been a solid fantasy contributor this season, but it's worth noting that Kawhi Leonard is active for Friday's game. That means, Leonard will probably cut into Powell's fantasy value, but fantasy managers should still get him in their lineups if he ends up playing.

Norman Powell To Miss Wednesday's Contest
2 weeks agoLos Angeles Clippers guard Norman Powell (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Wednesday's game against the Chicago Bulls. Powell is set to miss his fourth game in a row while he continues to recover from a knee injury. The expectation is that Bogdan Bogdanovic and Kris Dunn are going to see bigger roles with Powell sidelined. However, Kawhi Leonard (foot) is active, so he figures to cut into some of that playing time. Despite that, Bogdanovic might still be worth looking at as a streaming choice while Powell is out.
