Norman Powell Drops Career-High 43 Points
4 years agoToronto Raptors guard Norman Powell put together a superhero effort in a 116-112 loss to the Pistons on Wednesday. Powell scored a career-high 43 points with eight triples and three rebounds in 38 minutes. On a night where the Raptors' three core players, Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet, and Kyle Lowry, combined to shoot 7-for-37, Powell was unstoppable. He made 14 of 18 field-goal attempts for his fourth game with 30-plus points this month. Powell will get a tough matchup on Friday against a stingy Jazz defense. Still, Toronto's core trio may need some time to get their conditioning right since their absence in the safety protocols, giving Powell another chance to lead the team offensively.
