Nolan Gorman Placed On 10-Day Injured List
1 year agoThe St. Louis Cardinals placed infielder Nolan Gorman (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday with a right-hamstring strain and selected the contract of infielder Juniel Querecuto from Triple-A Memphis in a corresponding move. Gorman's injury occurred on Tuesday as he attempted to beat out an infield single, and now he'll be forced to miss at least the next 10 days. The 23-year-old has had trouble staying on the field for long periods of time in his second major-league season in 2023, but he's supplied his fantasy managers with plenty of power when he's played, slugging 27 home runs and driving in 76 while hitting .236 (96-for-406) in 119 games. Until Gorman returns, Tommy Edman figures to see most of the playing time at second base in St. Louis, although Richie Palacios is starting at the keystone on Wednesday.
