Nolan Gorman, who covered the hot corner and was placed in the six-hole. Through his first 34 games of the campaign, Arenado has posted a .256/.342/.392 slash line with three home runs and one stolen base. Under the hood, the 34-year-old has generated a modest .299 xwOBA and a low .347 xSLG, which suggests he should see some regression throughout the campaign. Nolan Arenado will take a seat for Game 2 of a doubleheader on Wednesday versus the division-rival Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park.
Nolan Gorman will start at third and bat sixth, while
Brendan Donovan will start at the keystone and hit third against Reds pitching prospect
Chase Petty, who will be making his MLB debut. Arenado came into Wednesday's doubleheader hitting .255 (26-for-102) with three home runs, 13 RBI and 13 runs over the first month of the season before going 0-for-5 in the Game 1 win. The 34-year-old veteran hasn't had a multi-hit game since April 18 and hasn't homered since April 14. Gorman, a former first-rounder, has struggled at the plate for the Cardinals early on this season, going 10-for-48 (.208) with a homer, eight RBI and eight runs scored. He'll look to get going against a young and inexperienced arm in Game 2 of the twin bill.

Nolan Arenado continued his strong offensive start to the season in Monday's 8-3 win over the Astros. Arenado went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a solo home run, and two RBI. The 33-year-old punished a seventh-inning
Luis Contreras middle-middle fastball, launching it into the left-field bullpen. Arenado seems to have left his awkward off-season with the Cardinals' front office in the past, slashing .316/.409/.526 with two HR and nine RBI in his first 66 plate appearances. His slugging percentage has been up after last season's disappointing production, although, like last season, he has not hit the ball very hard.

Nolan Arenado (illness) is returning to the starting nine on Tuesday evening when they continue a series against their NL Central rival, the Pittsburgh Pirates. Arenado was unable to play in the series opener on Monday due to an illness. However, Arenado will return quickly to the starting nine, suggesting the injury was not serious. Through his first six games of the campaign, the 33-year-old has posted a stellar .371/.463/.543 slash line with three doubles and one home run. During this impressive start, he has held a 7.3 percent strikeout rate with a 14.6 percent walk rate. He will cover the hot corner and bat cleanup. Despite his strong start, he is not worth targeting in DFS facing right-hander
