Noelvi Marte On Track To Be Ready For Camp
1 year agoCincinnati Reds general manager Nick Krall said the hamstring injury that infield prospect Noelvi Marte suffered late in November while playing in the Dominican Republic winter league came with a six- to 10-week recovery process, meaning he's on a good track to be ready for the start of spring training. Barring a setback in his recovery process, the 22-year-old figures to be the team's starting third baseman on Opening Day. Marte saw his first 114 major-league at-bats in 2023 and went 36-for-114 (.316) with three home runs, 15 RBI, six stolen bases and 15 runs scored in 35 games played. There's a lot to like about Marte for fantasy managers in an improved Reds lineup. There's a nice combination of power, contact ability and speed on the basepaths with Marte as he preps for his first full season in the big leagues. He has a high ceiling and the potential to hit around 25 home runs in 2024.
