Noelvi Marte On Track To Be Ready For Camp
12 months agoCincinnati Reds general manager Nick Krall said the hamstring injury that infield prospect Noelvi Marte suffered late in November while playing in the Dominican Republic winter league came with a six- to 10-week recovery process, meaning he's on a good track to be ready for the start of spring training. Barring a setback in his recovery process, the 22-year-old figures to be the team's starting third baseman on Opening Day. Marte saw his first 114 major-league at-bats in 2023 and went 36-for-114 (.316) with three home runs, 15 RBI, six stolen bases and 15 runs scored in 35 games played. There's a lot to like about Marte for fantasy managers in an improved Reds lineup. There's a nice combination of power, contact ability and speed on the basepaths with Marte as he preps for his first full season in the big leagues. He has a high ceiling and the potential to hit around 25 home runs in 2024.
