Noelvi Marte Holding His Own In Triple-A
1 year agoCincinnati Reds shortstop prospect Noelvi Marte was promoted to Triple-A Louisville on July 10 and has shown he has belonged since that time. In 24 games, the 21-year-old has hit a clean .319 with two homers, 17 RBI and six stolen bases. Apart from three games in Rookie Ball, Marte spent most of his season in Double-A and overall has hit .291 with 10 homers, 42 RBI and 16 stolen bases between all three of his stops. The prize of the Luis Castillo trade last season, Marte has shown a good eye at the plate throughout his career and has begun tapping into his power potential. As exciting as it would be to see Marte in the big leagues this season, the Reds are already shuffling plenty of their young talent at the big-league level and the smart move is to give Marte everyday at-bats. Redraft managers could avoid Marte for now, but he should be rostered in dynasty formats as one of the top shortstop prospects in all of baseball.
