Noah Syndergaard Victorious In Angels Debut
3 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard picked up his first major-league win in over two years on Saturday as his club defeated the Astros 2-0. The right-hander tossed 76 pitches over 5 1/3 scoreless innings and allowed just two walks and a pair of singles, generating 11 ground-ball outs in an impressive outing versus a formidable lineup. The only complaint would be that he struck out just one batter, but since he's thrown only two innings since 2019, the tradeoff is worthwhile. There's always injury risk that surrounds Syndergaard, but as long as the 29-year-old is on the mound, he should put up strong fantasy numbers this season. He'll face the Rangers in Texas next weekend where managers should start him with confidence.
