Noah Syndergaard Fires Scoreless Inning In 2021 Debut
3 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard struck out two batters over one inning during a 2-1 victory over the Miami Marlins on Tuesday. The 29-year-old returned to the mound for the first time since 2019 after recovering from Tommy John surgery and several setbacks. The 2016 All-Star threw 10 pitches (nine strikes) during his one inning of work. When healthy, Thor's upside is one of the best pitchers in baseball, posting a 3.31 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, and 9.7 K/9 during his first five seasons in the majors. 2022 will be an interesting season for Syndergaard, as the free agent could have a new home.
