Noah Syndergaard A Hard-luck Loser Thursday
6 years agoThe New York Mets were shut out on Thursday in their home opener at Citi Field. On the mound was Noah Syndergaard, who had a very strong performance, but was out-pitched by the opponent. The 26-year-old carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning, though he was already trailing as a result of a couple of walks and a wild pitch. Ultimately he would allow a solo home run for his only hit surrendered on the day, getting tagged with the loss. This is the kind of defeat that fantasy owners can live with, as he wasn't knocked around for a significant number of runs. His next start is scheduled for next Thursday against Atlanta.
