Noah Song Designated For Assignment
2 years agoThe Philadelphia Phillies reinstated right-hander Noah Song (back) from the 60-day injured list on Saturday and designated him for assignment. Song recently started a rehab assignment in the minor leagues at the end of June, but he's been on the injured for all of 2023 to this point and could now be moving to another organization. If he clears waivers, he'll be offered back to the Boston Red Sox after being a Rule 5 pick. The 26-year-old has made eight rehab appearances for Single-A Clearwater, Double-A Reading and Triple-A Lehigh Valley and has posted a rough 7.36 ERA, 2.09 WHIP, 11 walks and 16 strikeouts in 11 innings of work. Song lost two years while completing a two-year commitment to the Naval Academy.
