Noah Gragson Likely To Struggle In 2024
10 months agoAfter Noah Gragson was fired by Legacy Motor Club and suspended by NASCAR for liking an offensive Twitter meme, Stewart-Haas Racing gave him a second chance and named him as Aric Almirola's replacement in the No. 10 Ford for 2024. Even before his firing, Gragson's 2023 was very uninspiring, as he led only two laps with a best finish of 12th. Although SHR will likely have faster cars than LMC did then, Gragson's prospects still look dim, as he no longer has Luke Lambert, the crew chief responsible for most of his Xfinity Series success. His new crew chief Drew Blickensderfer has historically underachieved, except on drafting tracks. Additionally, Kevin Harvick's retirement and Almirola's departure mean the team is badly lacking veteran leadership that would help them to set up the new Mustangs. Because of Blickensderfer, Gragson will probably be fast on drafting tracks, but don't expect much elsewhere.
