Per Kainani Stevens of the team, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder, concussion) has had no decisions made about "if/when he will return this season." It's concerning news for Lawrence, who lasted only 19 snaps before exiting Sunday's outing after an unnecessary late blow to the head. That's on top of the shoulder surgery he's potentially still due for despite stating that he wants to play the rest of this season. It's truly a mess of a situation. With the 25-year-old still in the league's protocol, he may miss Week 14's matchup against the Tennessee Titans. If he does, teammate Mac Jones projects to serve in his stead again. Watch for news on Lawrence over the next few days ahead of the team's road tilt.--Alex Ciulla

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen recently told SiriusXM NFL Radio that he plans to aid quarterback Trevor Lawrence through the team's scheme and an improved run game in 2025. The new head coach intends to give his QB the "answers to the test." "Obviously, once we get into the building, some of the football aspects: the formations, the motions, the shifts," Coen said. "But for us to help him truly...man, we've got to be able to run the football a little bit better." Jacksonville has been in the bottom third of the league regarding yards on the ground per game over the last two seasons, and Lawrence hasn't been able to overcome the team's deficits on his own merit. It's possible all he needs is the right head coach, and Coen's offense in Tampa Bay was impressive in 2024 -- ranking fourth in points (29) and third in yards (393.2) per game. The Clemson product will be a cheap pick in drafts this summer.--Alex Ciulla

The Pittsburgh Steelers never called the Jacksonville Jaguars recently about potentially trading for quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder), according to a source with direct knowledge of the situation. Last week, Ryan Burr of the Big 10 Network reported that the Steelers reached out to the Jags about Lawrence, but sources quickly said there's "no chance" it would happen. Lawrence said on Monday that he won't waive his no-trade clause and won't go to Pittsburgh. The Steelers are at a crossroads at the QB position with both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields entering free agency, but they are expected to re-sign one of them this offseason. Although the Jaguars remain without a new general manager, those in the front office apparently remain fully committed to the former first overall pick out of Clemson. Fantasy managers, however, will probably be ignoring him this fall in 12-team, one-QB leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Regarding a recent report from 93.7 The Fan's Andrew Fillipponi that the Pittsburgh Steelers inquired about a trade for Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence, a Jaguars source said there's "no chance" they will trade Lawrence and called the idea "ridiculous," according to ESPN's Michael DiRocco. The Steelers may or may not have reached out to the Jags about Lawrence, but despite an injury-plagued and disappointing season for the 25-year-old in 2024, Jacksonville plans to build around the former first overall pick under new head coach Liam Coen rather than trade him away. Pittsburgh, meanwhile, is at a crossroads at the QB position with both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields scheduled to hit free agency next month. They are expected to re-sign only one of them. With better health in 2025, Lawrence could be a rebound candidate under Coen after playing in a career-low 10 games last year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

At his introductory press conference on Monday as the Jacksonville Jaguars' new head coach, Liam Coen said that he plans on building around quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who was the first overall pick back in 2021 out of Clemson. "How do we make Trevor Lawrence and this offense as dynamic and explosive as we can be? We've got to build it around him, we've got to make every part of this about improvement, and he will be a part of that process," Coen said. "He's earned that right. I cannot respect his toughness and mentality and work ethic more than I do already from afar. This will all be about Trevor." The 25-year-old so far has not lived up to his draft stock in four NFL seasons, and he played in a career-low 10 games in 2024 due to shoulder and concussion issues. Lawrence's fantasy stock has never been lower, but Coen's bright offensive mind should give him an opportunity to bounce back as a QB2 in 2025.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
