No Changes in Shohei Ohtani's Diagnosis
6 years agoLos Angeles Angels general manager Billy Eppler made it clear that, despite reports saying that Shohei Ohtani will undergo Tommy John surgery, there has been no changes to his diagnosis. Ohtani has not had TJS recommended, and his physicians have not even indicated that it is likely. Ohtani was diagnosed with a grade 2 sprain of the UCL in his right elbow. TJS is still certainly a possibility, but the team is planning to re-evaluate him in three weeks to make a determination at that point. Ohtani is likely going to be out at least another five weeks, although his season is certainly in jeopardy.
