Niko Goodrum Heading To Injured List With Calf Injury
3 years agoDetroit Tigers utility player Niko Goodrum (calf) will be placed on the 10-day injured list after being scratched from Saturday's lineup due to left calf tightness, according to Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press. It's unclear just how long Goodrum will be out, but in the meantime, the Tigers are calling up outfielder Victor Reyes to replace him on the roster. Goodrum had missed time at the end of June due to a finger injury, but overall this season he's been a solid deep-league play, as he's slashing .220/.296/.341 with six homers, 12 steals, 18 RBI and 28 runs scored over 63 games. Between Goodrum being out and Nomar Mazara being designated for assignment this week, Reyes will likely get a decent amount of playing time in the outfield while Goodrum is on the shelf.
