5 years agoThe Toronto Maple Leafs are expected to deal defenseman Nikita Zaitsev to the Ottawa Senators this week for defenseman Cody Ceci. The Leafs are on the hook for a $3 million roster bonus on July 1, so the deal will not occur until after that, and Zaitsev must waive his no-trade clause, too. Zaitsev posted career highs with 32 goals and 38 points in 2016-17, including 12 points on the power play. However, he has averaged just 13.5 points over the past two campaigns. A move to the Senators might mean more offensive responsibilities, and some added fantasy appeal, although he could take a step back in the plus/minus category, too.--Daniel Dobish
