Nikita Kucherov Takes Home Hart Trophy
5 years agoTampa Bay Lightning right wing Nikita Kucherov won the Hart Memorial Trophy on Wednesday night. The award is given to the league's most valuable player during the regular season. Kucherov also became the fourth Russian-born player to win the Ted Lindsay Award, too. He posted his second consecutive 100-point season, and he set career highs across the board with 41 goals, 87 assists, 128 points with 33 power-play assists and 48 power-play points. He also had a career-best 62 penalty minutes and eight game-winning goals. It's hard to imagine Kucherov not taking a step back next season after a magical and historic season, but another 100-point season is expected. He'll be a first-round pick in most fantasy pools again in 2019-20.
