Nikita Kucherov Breaks Points Record Among Russians
6 years agoTampa Bay Lightning right wing Nikita Kucherov finished the regular season with a goal and an assist in Saturday's 6-3 win over Boston, posting a new single-season points record among Russian players. Kucherov surpassed Alexander Mogilny, finishing with 128 points, which is the most in the NHL by any player since Wayne Gretzky had 130 points in 1993-94. He also posted a new personal best with 41 goals. Kucherov has been a solid postseason performer with 59 points in 61 games, but he completely disappeared in the Eastern Conference final last year, so he should have a point to prove in this year's Stanley Cup playoffs.
