Nicolai Hojgaard Rested In Preparation For Pinehurst
10 months agoNicolai Hojgaard enjoyed a week of rest leading up to the U.S. Open. The golfer from Denmark performed better a couple weeks ago at the RBC Canadian Open (T-35th). Hojgaard has been a bit up and down lately. He has missed four cuts in his last eight tournaments including the Arnold Palmer and The Players Championship. His solo second at the Farmers Insurance Open seems like a lifetime ago. His 308 yard drives rank 25th on tour but that 60.08% accuracy rate is concerning. Scrawny and bumpy conditions will be a major test for Hojgaard from the start.

Nicolai Hojgaard Misses First Cut In 2025
2 weeks agoNicolai Hojgaard missed the cut at last week's The PLAYERS Championship and is now focusing on preparing for this week's Valspar Championship at Innisbrook Inn. Before missing the cut, Hojgaard had two consecutive top-25 finishes and three overall in 2025. This will be Hojgaard's first appearance at the Valspar Championship. Last year, 37% of approach shots at the Valspar Championship came from 150-200 yards. Over the past 12 months, Hojgaard ranks in the 97th percentile for greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from this distance in the fairway. Despite missing the cut last week, he could be a solid addition to DFS lineups this week.

Nicolai Hojgaard Looks To Stay Consistent Heading Into PLAYERS Championship
3 weeks agoAlthough Nicolai Hojgaard has played in only three PGA Tour events this year, he has made the cut in all three, with his best finish being eighth at the Mexico Open. He has also played two events on the DP World Tour and made the cut in both, with his best finish a T-24 at the Nedbank Golf Challenge. This will only be his second appearance at the PLAYERS, where he missed the cut in last year's event. Players must dial in play from tee to green to succeed at the stadium course. Hojgaard has been excellent with his irons gaining 1.054 strokes gained approach to green, which ranks third on tour. A typical distance at the venue is 100-125 yards, where he ranks 30th. He may not have experience in the event, but his game is suited for this course. He could be a great value pick at his $8,100 price tag on FanDuel this week.

Nicolai Hojgaard Looking To Keep Momentum Going At Cognizant Classic
1 month agoNicolai Hojgaard had an impressive week at the Mexico Open, finishing eighth while gaining 4.571 strokes on approach and a career-best 10.463 strokes from tee to green. He now turns his attention to the Cognizant Classic, a tournament he has played in only once, missing the cut in 2022. PGA National is an unforgiving course that demands precision on approach, an area where Hojgaard excels, ranking third on tour with an average of 1.184 strokes gained approach per round. He also ranks in the 91st percentile for proximity from 150-200 yards, a range that accounts for 48.1% of approach shots at this course. In addition to his strong approach play, avoiding around-the-green work will be key to success, and Hojgaard leads the tour in greens in regulation at 77.08%. Given his elite play early in the season, fantasy managers can confidently insert Hojgaard into their lineups at his price tag of $7,400 on DraftKings.

Nicolai Hojgaard Poised For Strong Performance At Mexican Open
1 month agoNicolai Hojgaard has played in just one PGA Tour event this year, finishing T36 at the WM Phoenix Open. He now looks ahead to the Mexican Open, an event he has competed in twice, with results of T52 in 2024 and T33 in 2023. At 7,456 yards, Vidanta Vallarta is a course that requires length off the tee and strong long-iron play. Hojgaard fits the bill, as he ranked 25th in driving distance last year (309.1-yard average) and 30th in strokes gained on approach. This includes ranking first on tour in proximity from 175-200 yards and being in the 99th percentile in proximity from 200-plus yards. These distances accounted for 63.5% of all approach shots at this event last year. This course suits Hojgaard perfectly, and with a weaker field, he can be played with confidence by fantasy managers at his $10,100 price tag on DraftKings.
