Before missing the cut, Hojgaard had two consecutive top-25 finishes and three overall in 2025. This will be Hojgaard's first appearance at the Valspar Championship. Last year, 37% of approach shots at the Valspar Championship came from 150-200 yards. Over the past 12 months, Hojgaard ranks in the 97th percentile for greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from this distance in the fairway. Despite missing the cut last week, he could be a solid addition to DFS lineups this week.

He has also played two events on the DP World Tour and made the cut in both, with his best finish a T-24 at the Nedbank Golf Challenge. This will only be his second appearance at the PLAYERS, where he missed the cut in last year's event. Players must dial in play from tee to green to succeed at the stadium course. Hojgaard has been excellent with his irons gaining 1.054 strokes gained approach to green, which ranks third on tour. A typical distance at the venue is 100-125 yards, where he ranks 30th.
