Nico Hoerner Back In Cubs Lineup
6 months agoChicago Cubs second baseman Nico Hoerner (hand) is starting at second base and is hitting sixth in the batting order on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays and right-hander Aaron Civale. Hoerner somehow managed to avoid the injured list after being diagnosed with a fracture in his right hand last weekend, and now the 27-year-old middle infielder will return to the starting lineup after missing the last four games. Fantasy managers may want to keep Hoerner on their benches, though, as he had gone hitless in his last eight at-bats over three starts before fracturing his hand. It wouldn't be a surprise at all to see Hoerner struggle at the plate in his return from this injury. On the season, the former 24th overall selection out of Stanford is hitting .252 (53-for-210) with only two home runs, 17 RBI and seven stolen bases.
