5 years agoNew Jersey Devils center Nico Hischier registered the game-winning goal 1:09 into the third period to help give his team a 2-1 victory over the visiting New York Islanders on Thursday. In addition to the big marker, the 20-year-old posted four shots and a block while leading all Devils forwards with 20:12 of ice time in the winning effort. With a strong December (nine points in 11 games), Hischier looks primed for a big 2020 calendar year - fresh off signing a seven year, $50.75 million contract extension back in October. With 24 points (nine goals, 15 assists), eight power-play points and 74 shots on goal through 35 games, the Swiss native is making strides in his third full NHL season. The Devils may finish near the basement of the league but Hischier (26% owned in Yahoo! leagues) is certainly a guy to keep an eye on as the second half progresses.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
