Nick Vincent Earns A Save On Friday
4 years agoMiami Marlins relief pitcher Nick Vincent earned a save on Friday, his first since the 2016 season. With Brad Boxberger and Brandon Kintzler both unavailable due to recent usage, Vincent stayed in to pitch the ninth inning after getting the Marlins through the eighth. He ended up with 1 2/3 innings pitched, allowing one hit and striking out one. He inherited three base runners, coming into a bases loaded situation, but allowed only one to score. Vincent won't likely be in the mix for saves on a regular day when other relievers are available, but it seems he is a bit higher in the pecking order than previously expected.
