The St. Louis Cardinals signed free-agent left-hander Nick Raquet to a minor-league deal last week. A former prospect with the Washington Nationals, Raquet didn't play with a major-league organization at all from 2020-22 but resurfaced this past year with the New York Revolution in independent baseball and had a 3.71 ERA with 40 walks and 133 strikeouts in 145 2/3 innings pitched. In three minor-league seasons as a starter, the 28-year-old southpaw had a 3.64 ERA and 1.36 WHIP with 89 walks and 238 strikeouts in 306 1/3 innings over 61 starts. He'll give the Cardinals some extra starting depth in the minor leagues to begin the 2024 season and will most likely open up with Triple-A Memphis.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
