Nick Pivetta Only Goes Four Innings, Takes Loss
6 years agoThe Philadelphia Phillies opted for a pinch-hitter over starter Nick Pivetta in the fifth inning of Wednesday night's game in Miami, but it was to no avail. Pivetta was removed due to the mighty struggles of the Phillies offense, going just four innings and allowing just two runs on four hits and two walks. Regardless of the brief outing and subsequent loss, Pivetta had another moderately successful performance, a second in a row after two poor performances in late August. The 25-year-old is scheduled to make his next start Tuesday against the Washington Nationals.
