4 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Nick Neidert threw three more scoreless innings in a relief appearance on Wednesday. The Marlins played the Astros in an evening Grapefruit League game, and Neidert worked his three innings as the third Marlins pitcher into the game. He allowed just one hit and one walk while striking out four. Neidert seems to be in second place right now in the competition for the fifth spot in the Marlins rotation. He projects as an above average big league starter, but doesn't have the exciting swing-and-miss stuff of the guy he's currently chasing, Trevor Rogers. Neidert may end up in the Marlins bullpen, where he wouldn't have much fantasy value.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
