Nick Mullens Embarasses Raiders In Debut
6 years agoIn his first career start, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Nick Mullens shredded the Oakland Raiders for 262 yards and three touchdowns. Mullens, 16 for 22 on the evening, sliced the Raiders defense at will, locating wide receiver Pierre Garcon and tight end George Kittle for long scores and finding wideout Kendrick Bourne on a red zone conversion. His night could have been bigger if not for a blowout lead midway through the third quarter. C.J. Beathard (wrist) had struggled recently and his injury gave Mullens a golden opportunity. It’s possible he gets another chance in Week 10 against the New York Giants. Fantasy owners should temper the hype since Mullens dominated a terrible Raiders squad but he could be QB2-viable if he gets another start.
