Nick Mullens A Risky Week 4 Starter
4 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Nick Mullens appears likely to make his second straight start for the team this week as Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle) continues to nurse the ankle sprain he suffered in Week 2. The 49ers face off against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night this week. While the Eagles as a whole have been abysmal this year, their pass defense still ranks among the top 10 of the league, allowing just 224.3 passing yards per game. Mullens threw for 343 yards and a touchdown against the New York Giants in Week 3 and he'll have star tight end George Kittle (knee) back this week. Still, the 49ers will likely feature a run-heavy attack against the Eagles, and Mullens could wind up disappointing fantasy owners with just 200 yards and a touchdown on the day. He's a low-end QB2 option this week.
