5 years agoAtlanta Braves outfielder Nick Markakis (wrist) is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a fractured wrist, according to manager Brian Snitker. Markakis will need at least several more weeks before he even considers a return to Atlanta, which is too late for fantasy owners in 2019. The 35-year-old veteran was hitting .284/.358/.429 with nine home runs, 57 runs and 55 RBI at the time of his injury. The Braves outfield is beat up with Ender Inciarte possibly out for the year, so some combination of Charlie Culberson, Adam Duvall and Matt Joyce will continue to fill in alongside Ronald Acuna until Markakis is able to return.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
