Nick Castellanos Simplifying Swing
2 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder Nick Castellanos is making some mechanical adjustments to his swing to simplify it. Castellanos said, "I was trying to do too much. Whenever I add movement, I try too hard. His bat moved a lot last season, which threw off his timing and slowed his bat down. The 30-year-old is working with Phillies hitting coach Kevin Long to create a more simpler stroke. The Florida native went from a .939 OPS in 2021 to nearly 300 points less in the form of a .694 mark. He slashed .263/.305/.389 in 2022 and hit just 13 HRs with an appalling .126 ISO. Castellanos hopes to get his bat on track as the Phillies prepare for another year in contention.
