4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates reliever Nick Burdi is opting to undergo a platelet-rich plasma treatment on his right forearm to avoid having surgery, according to Jason Mackey of Post-Gazette Sports. Even if the procedure goes well, Burdi's 2020 season is still over. Keone Kela (COVID-19) will likely take over the team's closing role once he is activated from the injured list.
