Nick Anderson Will Throw Bullpen Session Saturday
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Nick Anderson (elbow) will throw a bullpen session on Saturday. The 31-year-old's rehab has been delayed due to COVID-related issues. He has been sidelined all season due to a partially torn UCL. Anderson is trending in the right direction but currently has no timetable for a return. He was excellent out of the Rays' bullpen in 2020, racking up 12 solds (six saves, six holds) along with a 0.55 ERA and 0.49 WHIP across 16 1/3 innings in 2021. Once activated from the 60-day injured list, Anderson will be in the mix for saves and is worth stashing in all league formats. The Rays will continue to use a closer-by-committee until Pete Fairbanks and Anderson can return.
