Nick Anderson Throwing From 60 Feet
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays relief pitcher Nick Anderson (elbow) is making progress after having surgery on his elbow last October and is throwing from 60 feet. The 31-year-old right-hander was a first-team All-MLB reliever in the shortened 2020 season, when he posted a microscopic 0.55 ERA, 0.49 WHIP, 26 strikeouts, three walks and a career-high six saves in 16 1/3 innings over 19 appearances out of the bullpen. Anderson suffered a partial tear of his ulnar collateral ligament early in spring training last year and pitched in six September games with his velocity down two to three mph. If he avoids setbacks, Anderson could be ready to go around the middle of the 2022 season, if there is one.
